This is the reason that I have not made any softies to give away these past couple of weeks.<br /><br />Being a novice in the crochet department I am quite chuffed at my ability to churn the squares out. I have found that doing granny squares is a great portable craft. I can stuff my current half completed square into my bag and carry it around with me so that when I have some free time I can continue on with finishing the square. <br /><br />Another way that I take some crafting stuff around with me to fill in any idle time is to have a whole lot of blank dolly faces and some embroidery threads. Went to one of the local op shops and scored heaps of crafty supplies for next to nothing. My favourite find was some wool felt pieces in white and yellow for the princely sum of $2, what a bargain.<br /><br />I was inspired to make the following fellow. Been having a great time looking at all the stuff that I could make if I had mega crafty skills. Anyway I am going to attempt to make some of the items I've seen, but I'm sure they will not come out anywhere near as nicely as the talented people in those giveaway blogs. <br /><br />My favourite item to make hands down is the notebook cover. One of the giveaway ladies posted what looks like a really easy tutorial with great pictures so I will be giving it a go. I only have time to waste. Need to go to my local fabric store to buy some wadding, then I'm all systems go.<br /><br />Oh and I have also finished my second toy society drop toy. It's a sea creature a al loch ness monster. He will be finding a new home sometime this week.
